Today's Photo: Voodoo Doughnut
Today's Photo is of the classic Voodoo Doughnut from Voodoo Doughnut in Portland, OR. Usually, there is a 1-hour + wait for this eclectic sugary fare, but my friend Kristin and I managed to arrive at a break in the day and only waited for 20 minutes. Complete with voodoo stake and raspberry-filling innards, this original is one of over 30 doughnuts, many covered with cereal and candy pieces. If you venture to Voodoo, your doughnut purchase will come in a giant Barbie-pink box (brilliant advertising) and don't be surprised if you are asked on the street to sell a doughnut or two to locals (they're too smart to wait in the around-the-block line). We went to a neighboring park by the riverside and relaxed as the doughnut scent wafted out of the box flap.
And yes, that IS bacon on that maple doughnut...

We stopped at Voodoo Doughnuts last time we were in Portland. We were at the smaller location--but loved the eclectic doughnuts.
